Many people don’t realize how beneficial yoga really is. With its variety of yoga poses at different intensity levels, it is one of the most enduring exercise programs. Yoga does more than just burn calories and tone muscles. It also gives us mind and body awareness. Basically, yoga is a combination of breathing, relaxation, stretching and strengthening. In addition, yoga has so many health benefits. It alleviates anxiety, headaches, joint pains, diabetes, heart disease, insomnia and more. With patience, almost anyone can do yoga.
When I’m doing yoga I like to select a peaceful place in my home, deck or yard. The first thing I do is apply sunscreen to protect my skin. I use Hint sunscreen because it smells good, it is water-resistant and has SPF 30 protection. Another thing I make sure to do is to wear loose or stretchable clothing. It helps me move easier and makes me feel comfortable. The black hoodie jacket from Jill Yoga is one of my favorite pieces. It is comfortable and keeps me warm on chilly days.
A durable yoga mat like the one I have from Ankit is really important to use. It is thick and gives me plenty of knee protection. I also like putting my yoga mat away in a yoga bag after my workout. It protects it, keeps it neat and clean. The one that I have from Ankit is filled with beautiful embellishments of beads and patchwork.

I remember the first time I took a yoga class and I was all like, this is so easy – then, oh baby – it’s totally not easy ad you are working your muscles!! Yoga is so good for women and creates such positive endorphins
I totally agree with you, Teresa. Yoga looks so easy but I it is really challenging to master the poses.
Child’s pose is my favorite. I did prenatal yoga and LOVED it so much that I started taking my baby to Itsy Bitsy Yoga. He’s a little yogi now 🙂
Oh, how adorable! Wish I took my kids to yoga when they were little.
I really want to get into yoga as I want to increase my flexibility and strength.
It definitely does increase flexible and strength.
First, I love that mat! Secondly, I have always wanted to try yoga but for one reason or another I just never have. I think it would be a wonderful way to add to my at home workouts.
You will love it, Jessica!
I love the yoga mat!! Yoga is part of my daily routine and I don’t know what I would do without it! Tree is absolutely my favorite no matter how far I progress.
Glad to hear you like it! Tree pose is my favorite too! 🙂
First, love the tights, very stylish. Second, I need to get into yoga. I have taken a few classes here and there, but really need to make it a priority. Your post does it make it seem very easy and doable. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Ayana!
I love yoga. It’s been so long since I’ve done it so I’m back to the beginning. I can do these ones though!
Start with these and work yourself up. 🙂
I need more yoga in my life. I can see where it would be very beneficial for the body, in so many ways!
Once you start you will love it!
Once you start you will love it!
I am thankful for a list of these poses and how to do them. I have the opportunity to do yoga right in my neighborhood but it was more for those who know what they are doing. Now I will have a few poses under my belt!
It is tough to jump into an advanced class when you are a beginner.
I’ve been doing yoga for some time now. It’s really one of the best exercises that anyone can do, it also helps you relax and get rid of stress!
This is true!
I’ve been considering doing yoga for a while now. I think it’s awesome that you shared these beginner poses with us. I could really use these to help me start at home. I love that you can do it at home instead of going to the gym.
I prefer to exercise at home because I feel it is more peaceful.
I’ve been practicing for 20 years. I love yoga and how it balances me.
It sure does!
I used to love to do yoga. Unfortunately since I got hurt it is almost impossible for me to do it. That is a shame. I would love to do it again.
Oh no, sorry to hear that Dawn! I hope you feel better soon.
Ahhhh such a great reminder that I need to get myself back into yoga! Was was super addicted for so long, then life made me crazy busy. Need to make time for it again.
Kids do keep us busy! 🙂
Child’s pose is my absolute favorite. I feel like I get the biggest stretch all ever. I love the yoga mat too!
I agree with you! It does give the best stretch ever! The yoga mag is amazing!
