The Different Type Of Bras And Why Women Wear Them

I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

Apparently, when choosing bras there are so many factors to consider. Unsurprisingly women choose their bra by the type of clothing they plan to wear. Other times women choose it for comfort, support or how sexy it makes her look and feel. Because breasts are not created equally I have created a list of different bra types to help you find the right one.

Different Type Of Bras…

  • Balconette – this bra has a retro style and it is low cut in order to be able to wear it with low cut clothing.
  • Bandeau – this bra has no wire and is made out of stretchy fabric.
  • Bralette – this bra does not have underwire or padding. It is extremely comfortable but does not give you support.
  • Bullet – this bra has pointy cups without underwires.
  • Contour / molded cup bra – the cup is designed to shape your breasts.
  • Convertible – this bra has detachable straps in order to be able to be worn different ways (criss-cross, around the neck, etc). It is perfect to wear with a different type of clothing like the halter tops, etc.
  • Corset – it is usually used underneath a gown because it gives you a perfect hourglass shape.
  • Demi – this bra has wide straps and plunges really low.
  • Full Cup – this bra is designed to give full coverage and is really popular with full-sized breasted women.
  • Minimizer – this bra is used to minimize the look of a fuller bust. It is designed for full sized breasted women with large breasts who want them to appear smaller.
  • Push up – this bra has additional padding to give a fuller bust allusion. Usually, this bra is popular with smaller breasted women.
  • Plunge – it is a low cut in the middle area of the bra. It is designed for really low cut necklines.
  • T-shirt – it is designed to wear under t-shirts. It is designed to give a smooth look underneath the fabric.
  • Soft cup – this bra has no underwire but uses the support of the underband to support the bust.
  • Sport – gives you full support, especially during physical activity.
  • Stick-on / adhesive bra – This bra is made out of silicone. Perfect to wear with revealing clothing.
  • Strapless – this bra has no shoulder straps and great to use with strapless clothing.

The Coobie Intimates Bras

I have a lot of different bras. Some of my favorites are the sports, corsets, convertible, and contour bras. However, my newest favorite bra is the Coobie Intimates bra because it is comfortable, has padding and doesn’t have an underwire which I despise. Furthermore, the Coobie is inexpensive, comes in a lot of colors, gives me full support, has adjustable straps and reversible padding. In addition, the fabric is made of an ultra-soft nylon and spandex blend. It is perfect for everyday use, work, and wear during physical activities.

  • I hate shopping for bras so I appreciate being able to find a brand and just get new styles or colors without having to get fitted again. These do look comfortable and oneless underwire is a good thing.

I’m a huge fan of bralettes. I keep adding them to my collection. I’ve also become a fan of European brands. For some reason I find them to be much more comfortable.
