Certain foods, pressure on the skin, overly washed irritated skin can aggravate acne. Furthermore, exposing your skin to certain industrial products at work, certain medication, heredity factors can possibly cause it too.

During acne breakouts, the body tries to repair itself by producing collagen. Acne scarring happens when your body produces irregular collagen production. For instance, not producing enough collagen can cause Depressed or Pit form acne scars. On the other hand, producing too much collagen will cause Raised acne scars. Other factors that cause acne scarring include:

Acne scar treatments you can do from home..

The easiest acne treatment you do from the comfort of your home is the Micro-needling, also know as, collagen-induction therapy. In fact, this type of treatment works for Depressed acne scars. Companies like the Derma Roller System allows you to do this type of treatment from the comfort of your home. When you use the Derma Roller System you basically roll the handheld studded needle roller across your acne scars. This treatment will puncture the acne areas of your skin and tricks your skin to produce more collagen. The more acne treatments you do the better results you’ll get. I have never experienced acne but I have teenage boys that may have inherited it from their dad – I’m making note of this for them!!

I’ve never had bad acne, but I do get stress pimples and I’m terrible for picking at them! I have a few acne scars which I hate! They’re not as bad as others, but I notice them and I’m happy to hear there are ways to minimize them!

This is very helpful information for my teenage daughter. The microneedling sounds very interesting!

  • I love that this is out there for people who suffer from acne scars! I actually have one of these derma rollers to use not so much for acne but for tighter skin (I don’t use it much because I forget about it, but I should… thanks for reminding me). : )

I suffered from acne but thanks to the efforts of my mom I didn’t get scars. She would insist and insist on me not touching my face, regardless, I’m wondering if this could work as a face treatment, to exfoliate or something like that?
